Shiralong browser extension and website · Effective September 23, 2026

Summary

Shiralong does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party services.

What the extension does

On open.spotify.com, the extension reads the song title, artist and playback position shown on the page in order to display matching Hebrew lyrics with an English translation. This happens entirely inside your browser. Nothing about what you listen to is sent anywhere.

Network requests

The extension downloads its lyrics library (static JSON files) from shiralong.com. That is the only network request it makes, and it contains no information about you.

Data stored in your browser

The extension saves a few preferences locally using Chrome's extension storage: whether the lyrics panel is open and its width. These never leave your device and are removed when you uninstall the extension.

The website

shiralong.com is a static site hosted by GitHub Pages and sets no cookies of its own. GitHub may log standard server information such as IP addresses; see GitHub's privacy statement. The invited-users app at /personal/ connects to Spotify only for users who sign in there; it stores Spotify's access token and preferences in the browser's local storage and sends nothing to Shiralong.
